Wow Mining Guide
This Wow WoD Mining Guide is the start of a series of guides that teaches you tons of stuff about mining in World of Warcraft. Yes we give you the quick routes but honestly we were looking to go a bit overboard and make this into a huge lasting resource for you.
If you're leveling Mining with your level 1 new toon then follow the guide below starting with Mining Guide 1-65. If your starting Mining and your toon is 90+ then skip down to the WoD section if you want to. All Mop and WoD ores are available to Mine at level 1.
Don't forget to train! Train at levels 50, 125, 200, 275, 350, 425, and 500.
Mining Guide 1-65: Alliance
For the Alliance the best place to start out regardless if you are human is outside Stormwind. Here, there is a plethora of Copper nodes and a good respawn rate of copper nodes.

Mining Guide 1 - 65: Horde
Tirisfal Glades is by far the best place for the Horde to level the first few levels in Mining. Even if you are not Undead it is worth the time to get to this area for Copper nodes.

Mining Guide 65 - 125
Hillsbrad Foothills is by far the best place to level Mining for Alliance and Horde. It is mostly packed with Tin nodes and sometimes you will get some Silver as well. For Alliance, the closest flight point is in Aerie Point in the Hinterlands which is just a short walk or flight away.

The next stop for both Alliance and Horde is Western Plaguelands to Mine Iron. When you are doing this optimized route it is possible that you get a good amount of Gold as well.

Badlands: This place holds the best Mithril and Truesilver Mining to level from 175 and beyond.

Hellfire Peninsula Fel Iron Mining is great provided you have a flying mount. If not, you will need to clear some mobs and travel up some moderate hills which can be a bit challenging.

Continuing on in the burning Crusade you can focus on Adamantite mining in Nagrand. This part is rather quick since you only need to go a few levels.

Mining Guide 350 - 400
Howling Fjord sports the best Cobalt and Rich Cobalt in game. Some people have suggested Borean Tundra and it is also a nice place if you land on the west side. However with years of this area we have found that the Fjord seems to yield a bit more ore per hour.

Sholazar Basin's Saronite and Rich Saronite Mining is the best in the game. It helped us define one of the nicest mining strategies in "How to Gather More Ore per Hour" which works like a charm here.

Mount Hyjal is the best place for Obsidium Mining. You won't have to spend much time there either because it is only for 25 levels. Feel free to stay a bit longer if you are leveling up a corresponding crafting profession at the same time.

Twilight Highlands and Deepholm are really good for Elementium and Rich Elementium. We found it to be far better in the Highlands so we made a good map of the quickest route to fill your bags with Elementium.
