How To Gather More Ore And Herbs Per Hour Farming in Wow
How to gather more ore and herbs per hour is a quick guide and part of our Mining and Herbalism compendium.
A mentor long ago told this story:
There was two lumberjacks having a contest to chop the most wood in one day. The first woodchopper whacked up a huge amount of wood by continuously chopping all day. The second lumberjack chopped and took a break every hour.
So who won? Nearly doubling the amount of wood chopped #2 won. And when they asked how he could have possibly done that he stated, "Each time I sat I sharpened my axe."
The same truth can be told in life and in Wow. As if Wow is not life...pffft. Taking breaks blows miners away.
In a recent mining challenge, we smashed some of our friends in Shalozar Basin. There were quite a few of us and there were also a few other miners in the area making it pretty congested.
First loop yielded around 20 ore, don't forget that you can collect more in a >lvl 23 guild. Second loop returned around 40 ore. A few adjustments and we were rocking. Third loop 123 ore, 4th loop 126 ore, and so on. We basically blew them away with smooth tricks.
Sharpening the Axe and Chopping the Corner
We merely sharpened our axes! When you are going around your perfect mining path the main objective is to get the ore/herb as it spawns. (Btw we have the most efficient paths in our mining guide and herbalism guide). We all know unlike Aion, real games (yea that was a shot) have nodes that pop in semi-randomly.
When a mining/herb node shows up, it will appear in one of a few spots; all pretty close to each other. To show exactly every node we suggest you refer to our Wow Farming Mods. If they are not showing up at your feet when you are traveling by then chose to 'pause for a few seconds' i.e. sharpen your axe.
You can also speed up by simply skipping a section or chopping the corner in your perfect path. With some good timing they will appear directly in front of you.
You will get nearly all the nodes and everyone else just gets lucky to have one or two. From farmer to farmer, we hope you enjoyed this guide and if you are looking to sharpen your axe on some perfect Mining routes or Herbalism routes we have those too my friend.
